Structure
Miniature rod studies explored the chair’s legs, frame, and joints. They also asked how something new could emerge from the refined language of rods and pipes.

Tension
Paper-folding and seat studies shifted the project toward angle, curvature, and slight instability.  Through these studies, tension began to appear visually in the seat rather than as an applied gesture.

xStructural Transition
Through experiments in wood and aluminum, the project discovered a new formal language within refined rods and pipes, familiar structural materials, and established joining methods.

Toward Nervous ChairThrough experiments in wood and aluminum, the project discovered a new formal language within refined rods and pipes, familiar structural materials, and established joining methods. Alongside this, studies of the seat began to reveal visual tension, which later became another defining element of Nervous Chair. Through these studies, NC Project began to connect two parallel inquiries: the structural logic of the chair and the visual tension of the seat. These lines later converged in Nervous Chair, where construction, curvature, and tension became more closely integrated.
